PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device capable of preventing degradation in visual acuity. SOLUTION: This liquid crystal display device has a liquid crystal panel 101, polarizing plates 102 and 103 and a phase difference plate 105. Since the eyeball of a user of the liquid crystal display device recognizes an image by detecting the elliptically polarized light or circularly polarized light converted in the linearly polarized light by the phase difference plate 105, the burden is not exerted on the user's eye as compared with the conventional liquid crystal display device for detecting linearly polarized light. The degradation in the user's visual acuity can, therefore, be prevented. |
