PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an emulsion type plate surface cleaner for a planographic printing plate having superior contaminant removing capability to various contamination phenomena, capable of persistently exhibiting desensitization action and having high environmental safety and good work efficiency by incorporating a specified compound into an oil phase. SOLUTION: The emulsion type plate surface cleaner contains at least one aliphatic carboxylic ester compound of the formula H3C-(CH2)n-COOR1 or H3C- CH(OH)-COOR2 in the oil phase. In the formulae, each of R1 and R2 is an 8-18C aliphatic hydrocarbon group, this group may be any of saturated and unsaturated groups and any of linear and branched groups and (n) is 0, 1 or 2. The aliphatic carboxylic ester compound is, e.g. an ester of acetic acid, propionic acid, butyric acid or lactic acid. |
