摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to produce a grating device having a wide band width, freely regulatable dispersibility and amplitude responsiveness by adding an extrinsic gradient to a waveguide and changing the range of the chirp in an intrinsic chirp type grating region. SOLUTION: The grating device 10 is manufactured by providing the device with the waveguide of a certain length like an optical fiber 11 having a grating region 12 in the waveguide. The grating region 12 has nonuniformly parted fluctuation parts and reflects the intrinsic chirp type grating. When the extrinsic gradient or force is impressed to the waveguide, the range of the chirp changes. First and second magnetic elements 15a and 15b attracts or repels to or from each other to introduce an elastic strain to the optical fiber 11 of the grating region. A gradient forming main body 14 is mounted on the optical fiber 11. As a result, the device which can include the grating of a certain range and the wide band width may be formed by using low temperature and weak force. The regulation of the dispersibility and amplitude responsiveness of the grating is possible as well.
