PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To greatly improve productivity while having a superior fitting workability by providing a first sponge body of sponge rubber so as to elastically contact with the inner surface of a rear wall of a seal body and a rear end of a lens, and providing a second sponge body of sponge rubber so as to elastically contact with the outer surface of the rear wall of the seal body and the inner surface of a rear wall of a housing. SOLUTION: This sealant 10 for headlights for an automobile is formed of a seal body 11, a first sponge body 15 and a second sponge body 16, and arranged between a headlight lens rear end 21 of a headlight lens 20 and the inner surface of a housing 30 having a nearly U-shaped cross section and to be fitted on the lens rear end 21 for assembling so as to secure the sealing property between the lens rear end 21 and the inner surface of the housing 30. Fitting work of this sealant 10 is concluded by fitting the lens rear end 21 of the headlight lens 20 to the seal body 11 through the first sponge body 15, and thereafter, inserting the unified body into the housing 30 so that the second sponge body 16 elastically contacts with the housing 30. |
