Materials for preventing arteriosclerosis and immunopotentiating materials having an effect of preventing arteriosclerosis and thus contributing to the maintenance of good health of vertebrates which are produced by inoculating beans with a koji-mold to produce koji and adding water the koji product thus obtained to thereby hydrolyze proteins and/or saccharides contained in the product, or by using the characteristic of coexisting and living in symbiosis with a lactic acid bacterium which is inherently contained in the starting material or added thereto; vertebrates excluding humans grown by feeding with these materials for preventing arteriosclerosis and immunopotentiating materials and eggs thereof. When added to, for example, foods, feeds, etc. in an appropriate amount, these materials for preventing arteriosclerosis and immunopotentiating materials are absorbed via the digestive tracts and exert the effects of preventing arteriosclerosis and/or immunopotentiation. Thus, these vertebrates can be surely prevented from the onset of arteriosclerosis and the immunity thereof can be potentiated, thereby contributing to the maintenance and promotion of good health, prevention of diseases, etc. |
