GAS MAIN SECTION OPERATION METHOD

SUBSTANCE: method comes to compressing of gas at compressor station with gas turbine drive of compressors, transfer of gas along gas main section to following compressor station with electrically driven compressors in direction of gas transportation, and compression of gas at this station. Gradual change of capacity of gas main section within the limits of capacity of one compressor with electric drive is provided by changing rotational speed of compressors with gas turbine drive at their number and capacity chosen according to definite relationship. Control range is changed by switching on or off of one of electrically-driven compressors, with the rest of electrically-driven compressors operating at rated speed and at maximum efficiency. Further change of section capacity is effected by changing rotational speed of compressors with gas turbine drive. EFFECT: increased economy of gas main section by stepless control of its capacity.
