NUCLEIC ACID UPTAKE AND RELEASE VEHICLE

A nucleic acid uptake and release vehicle comprising a ligand for a receptor covalently bonded by an amide linkage to an influenza virus hemagglutinin endosomolytic peptide is disclosed, which optionnaly may also comprise a polylysylleucyl peptide so as to provide additional sites for nucleic acid attachment; as well as a nuclear localization signal peptide so as to enhance intranuclear localization of delivered nucleic acid. The vehicle can be utilized to enhance the intracellular delivery of nucleic acid molecules.
