PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording head fixing device whose electronic circuit board is not easily damaged by the casual leakage of ink to the bottom of a carriage and at the same time, solve problems by constituting this damage-free electronic circuit board. SOLUTION: A carriage is composed discretely of a carriage body 2 mounted on a carriage guide shaft and a subcarriage 3 on which an ink cartridge is mounted. Further, the bottom inner face side and the bottom lower face side of the subcarriage 3 are isolated from each other by forming a wall 23 as a weir around the subcarriage 3. In addition, after the position of a recording head is adjusted, an urging lever 26 is rigidly fixed to the carriage body 2 so that the urging lever 26 is not easily moved out of place, even when a strong force is applied to the wall of the subcarriage 3 to which the recording head is fixed.
