EMERGENCY STOP DEVICE FOR ELEVATOR SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an emergency stop device for an elevator system reduced in manufacturing cost and maintenance cost with a simple structure and small installation space. SOLUTION: This emergency stop device for an elevator system comprises a pair of wedge means for pressing a guide rail 1 to bring an elevator to an emergency stop; a flexible cable 210 for pulling the wedge means upward when the elevator is operated at overspeed; a cam means for pulling the cable 210 upward when the elevator is operated at overspeed; a disk roller 110 receiving braking force for applying pressure to the guide rail 1 side by the cam means when the elevator is operated at overspeed; a centrifugal weight 111 for rotating the cam means when the elevator is operated at overspeed; and a spring acting to rotate the centrifugal weight 111 in contact with the cam means.
