PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inlet device for a man conveyor reducing a burden to ease pain when a finger or a hand is pulled in and caught between a handrail belt and an inlet or allowing the finger or hand to be easily freed by self-effort. SOLUTION: An inlet device for a man conveyor is provided with a nearly cylindrical inlet 9 at the end of a skirt part 7 at the lower part of a railing, and a handrail belt 4 traveling along the peripheral edge of the handrail is made to enter the skirt part 7 through the inside of the inlet 9. The inlet 9 is supported to be vertically rotatable through a hinge 26, and the position of the hinge 26 is determined to be above the arranged level of the handrail belt 4 passing in the inlet 9 and on the forward side in the entering direction of the handrail belt 4 with an intermediate part of the inlet 9 as a boundary.
