摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject new compound comprising a specific stilbene derivative, having excellent compatibility with a binder resin and a high charge mobility, useful as a charge transporting agent for electrophotographic photoreceptor. SOLUTION: This compound is shown by formula [R1 and R3 are each a (substituted)alkyl or the like, and R2 and R4 are each a (substituted)alkoxy or the like]. The compound of formula I is obtained by reacting a formylated triphenylamine derivative of formula II with a bisphosphoric ester derivative of formula III in an anhydrous solvent (e.g. diethyl ether) in the presence of a base (e.g. sodium methoxide) at -10 to 25 deg.C for 3-12 hours. The amount of the base used is preferably 2-2.5 times as much as the molar amount of the compound of formula III. The amount of the compound of formula II used is preferably 1.95-2.05 times as much as the molar amount. The compound of formula II is obtained by reacting an aniline of formula IV with an aniline derivative of formula IV with iodobenzene to give a triphenylamine derivative of formula V and formylating the compound by a Vilsmeier method.
