PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet feeder with a smaller moving space of a detected plate than a conventional one and capable of detecting and discriminating size of a sheet by saving the space and in high precision and an image forming device furnished with the feeder. SOLUTION: Two pieces of detected plates 24, 25 having opening part are provided on a paper feeding cassette 20 so as to be interlocked with a rear end regulating plate 22, the detected plate 24 is constituted to sequentially move in accordance with movement of the detected plate 24 to a position nearest to a paper feeding roller 1 from a center of a moving region in accordance with movement of the rear end regulating plate 22 to the center of the moving region from a position farthest from the paper feeding roller 22, and the opening parts provided on the detected plates 24, 25 are constituted to be detected by a detection means provided on the side of an image forming device.
