PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mold for forming microlens array which is free from generating fluctuation in curvature of each lens. SOLUTION: In a method for manufacturing a mold for forming a microlens array, a honeycomb plate including a through hole 1a is formed, each inside of the through hole 1a is saturated with liquid resin 2a having a specific setting shrinkage factor and a specific viscosity, and a recessed free surface of the setting resin 2A is formed in each through hole by making the liquid resin 2a set and shrank. By plating thick a metal layer so as to cover a principal surface of the honeycomb plate 1 including a plurality of recessed free surface regions, a mold 3A including an array of a projected surface region to which those recessed surface regions are reversely transferred is formed.
