PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lessen burden on the sides of the neck by providing notches in the upper ends or near the upper ends in the inside edges of shoulder belts. SOLUTION: A plurality of folds 7 nearly vertical to the longitudinal direction of a shoulder belts 1 is formed in the part where a notch 18 is provided and other parts in a belt body 11. The notch 18 obtained by cutting off the inside edge of the strip-form belt body 11 in the form of a near arc is formed in the upper end of the belt body 11. The center 21 of the notched arcs is located nearly in the central axis of the neck, when a rucksack is shouldered. The inside edges 18a of the parts of the belt bodies 11 where the notches 18 are formed, namely, the inside edges 18a of the notches 18 are rounded. The diameter of the arc to be notched is 15 cm or more, that is, greater than the diameter of the neck of an average person. A rucksack formed this way is shouldered by inserting the right and left arms from the inside edges of the two shoulder belts 1 and placing the upper portions of the shoulder belts on the surroundings of the shoulders.
