<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase coding speed and to enhance the accuracy by using reproduced pattern information, resulting from coding pattern information of an input video signal so as to encode a video signal. SOLUTION: Related to the title object unit video signal coder/decoder and its method in which when a conversion coefficient of a block that is pattern adaptive converted is scatted, a block having a coefficient is skipped, pattern information of an object included in a received video signal is coded by a pattern information coding section 20 and then a pattern adaptive scan control section 240 applies pattern adaptive conversion to texture information on the basis of reproduced pattern information to generate a coefficient mask. While a pattern adaptive conversion section 243 conducts pattern adaptive conversion, a process for forming a coefficient mask is processed in parallel independently, so as to increase the coding speed, and an accurate coefficient mask is generated, and bits generated by the coding method above the decoded to reproduce the video signal.</p> |
