PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a picture recorder that efficiently records a picture of an object at a prescribed time interval and from which the picture recorded at the prescribed time interval can be called while distinguishing the picture from other pictures. SOLUTION: In the picture recorder that has a function of automatically records image information on a storage medium 30 at a prescribed time interval, a write management section 11 records the image information recorded automatically at a prescribed time interval to an area 1 of a storage medium, and a write management section 12 records image information when a shutter is depressed to other area 2. In the case that the capacity of the area 1 is deficient and write to the area 2 is inhibited, the oldest image information is aborted and newest image information is always recorded and when the write to the area 2 is permitted, the image information is written in the area 2. Thus, the recording of the newest image information is always warranted.
