PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a adjusting method for elevating a color temperature by using an optical filter and a filter for a display with high transmittance of light in the visible region, with a high color temperature and with excellent color reproducibility. SOLUTION: The method for adjusting a color temperature comprises adjusting transmittance in the visible ray region by transmitting light through a pigment layer which contains at least one or more kinds of organic pigments, and the method for adjusting the color temperature makes the color temperature after transmission through the pigment layer using the C light source described in JIS Z 8720 be >=1.2 times higher than color temperature before transmission through the pigment layer, in the case absorbance of the pigment layer in 380-780 nm visible ray region at the maximum absorption wavelength is 0.2.
