<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To put the reference edge of a magnetic tape to be positively along the lead of a lead ring corresponding to the running direction of the magnetic tape. SOLUTION: When a rotary magnetic head assembly 10A is constituted by adopting a DD system, especially when a magnetic tape T runs in one direction (positive (+) direction), while being in contact with the sliding contact surface 14a for magnetic tape on a rotating upper drum 14 and a sliding contact surface HL for magnetic tape on the standstill lower drum 13, the magnetic tape T tends to run along carved lines HL1 formed on the sliding contact surface 13a for magnetic tape on the lower drum 13, so that the magnetic tape T in the running state to one direction (positive direction) is inclined to go down to the side of a bottom surface part 12c (downward) of the lead ring 12, since an angleα1 of carved lines HL1 is being set to the angle larger than a lead angleαof the lead 12a of the lead ring 12, the force F1 is generated for pressing a reference edge (lower end part) Te of the magnetic tape T to the lead 12a of the lead ring 12.</p> |
