PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate leading of electrode from a thin-film magnetic head and coil formed on the slide surface of a thin-film magnetic head slider and an optical head slider for a magneto-optical disk. SOLUTION: The slider 30 formed with an element part 20 on the surface facing a recording medium is provided with a tapered part 9 between the surface 100 facing the recording medium and the rear end face of the slider 30 and the electrodes 12 from the element part 20 are led to the rear end face of the slider. The slider is otherwise provided with the tapered part between the surface facing the recording medium and the rear end face of the slider and the electrodes from the element part are led to the tapered part or the slider is provided with a stepped part via the tapered part between the surface facing the recording medium and the rear end face of the slider and the electrodes from the element part 20 are led to the stepped part.
