PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an input-output device which can surely prevent an illegal outflow of information and surely protect secrecy. SOLUTION: Relating to a digital copying machine 110 that plural functions (a filing function, an OCR function, a fax function and a network function) are combined together by an image input-output control part 120, information retrieval which are required by users by using user's passwords at, e.g. an information retrieval request from the operation part (an information retrieval request), an information retrieval request by a retrieval sheet for information retrieval sent by an external fax and an information retrieval request from a personal computer on a network are performed, after that a new password is issued at random and the former password is made invalid.
