PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a user to easily recognize that a top surface part of an image forming device can be used as a working base, a storing base or the like. SOLUTION: This image forming device is, allowed to make the top surface parts 28, 33 and 35 on each unit such as a copying machine main body unit, possible to form canopy parts X by respectively providing the above part so as to project outward from side face of the each unit, and constituting the flattened very wide top surface, and to make the user possible to strongly recognize the canopy parts X as the working base and the storing base by the visual sensation.
