PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a lace yarn and a lace fabric without causing inflammations even when they are directly brought into contact with the skin of a wearer. SOLUTION: This lace yarn 1 capable of increasing high-class feeling while preventing the generation of filammations and imparting desired stretchability and flexibility is constituted by coating the surface of a base yarn 2 such as of a polyurethane by properly selecting a thickness and kind of a noble metal 3 such as gold. The lace fabric is obtained by interknitting the coated lace yarn with a usual lace yarn and, in this case, the coated lace yarn is interknitted with the usual lace yarn having a larger size than that of the coated yarn.
