PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject useful composition by combining Bacillus coagulans with lysine as nutrient supplements and as active principles suitable for treatment of intestinal injuries and modification of bacterial floras. SOLUTION: This composition is obtained by combining Bacillus coagulans DSM12316 with lysine as nutrient supplements and as active principles suitable for treatment of intestinal injuries and modification of bacterial floras. The resultant composition is useful as the nutrient supplements and for treatment of the intestinal injuries and modification, etc., of the bacterial floras. A culture of the Bacillus coagulans obtained by initially subjecting the Bacillus coagulans to culturing in the budding period in the presence of the lysine, then returning the Bacillus coagulans to the spore state and incorporating the prepared lysine can be used as the combination of the active principles.
