<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To recover valuable metals in a recyclable, by thermally decomposing abandoned electronic equipment at a specific temperature, crushing the resultant residues and separating metals from the rest of the residues in recovering various metals from the residues obtained from thermal decomposition of such equipment. SOLUTION: The raw material (a) such as an abandoned printed wiring board or the like is charged into a pyrolysis furnace 1 and is pyrolyzed by partially combusting on a retort 3 while supplying air (b) from the under side of the retort 3. In such a case, steam is added into the air at need to mitigate the pyrolysis reaction and to easily control the temp. The raw material is sent from the left to the right by a travelling structure of the retort 3 while being stirred and mixed on the retort 3 and the residue (d) remaining to the last and composed of metals, char or the like is discharged from the pyrolysis furnace 1. The recovered residue (d) is coarsely crushed and separated into the metals having large specific gravity and the other solid materials by pneumatic separation or the like and the metals are recovered in a high quality state suitable for being recycled.</p> |
