摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure a joint face structure causing no displacement in a combined condition for a heat insulator constructed into a cylindrical body in assembly by arranging a locking mechanism consisting of a projection and a recess on each joint face of a split body of the two-piece split type heat insulator made of synthetic resin foaming material. SOLUTION: A heat insulator 10 used when a pipe is suspended from a ceiling by means of a pipe hanging metal fitting is formed of a heat insulative synthetic resin foaming material such as urethane group material. A pair of equally shaped heat insulators 10 are combined into a cylindrical body for use, and in this case, locking mechanisms each consisting of a projection part 13 and a recess part 14 are formed symmetrically on joint faces 11, 12 in both ends of the insulator 10. When a pair of split insulators 10 are combined together, the projection 13 in one insulator 10 is fitted mutually with the recess part 14 in the other insulator 10, so that axial shift of the respective insulators 10 is restricted, and an assembly structure causing no displacement can be provided.
