PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary compressor which can improve quality of compression coolant by preventing oil injected from an upper gas vent hole from ascending together with coolant gas and reaching a discharge hole. SOLUTION: A balance weight 40 is arranged along a circumference on a lower portion of a rotor 6 of a motor with specified thickness, for shielding oil 20c injected from a gas vent hole 3c of a crankshaft 3 toward the outside. The balance weight 40 has a groove 40a on its inner peripheral surface extended in the direction of a center axis of the crankshaft 3, and a sprashed oil shielding part 40b formed so as to be projected upward.
