PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus having an option device equipped with a connection mechanism small in size and capable of providing electrical connection high in reliability. SOLUTION: The female connector 24 directly attached to a printed circuit board 23 is provided in the paper feeder frame 21 of an option paper feeder being one of option devices and a positioning pin 22a is provided in the vicinity of the connector. The energizing member 27 connecting the connector member provided to the main body apparatus of a printer and the connector 24 in an almost parallel state at a time of the connection of the main body apparatus and the option paper feeder is attached to the paper feeder frame 21 in the vicinity of or around the pin 22a.
