PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To collect dust floating in air by a simple technique. SOLUTION: In a casing 1 having an air inlet 10 having a suction fan 11, an air outlet 12 having an exhaust fan 13 and a liquid discharge port 21, collection chambers C1-C6, C11-C15 are formed by arranging a plurality of lower control plates 4 parallelly in a lateral direction so as to provide an interval and liquid storage portions 5 are formed under the collection chambers. Upper control plates 3 are arranged between the lower control plates 4 and air is successively supplied to the liquid in the storage portions 5 from above and dust in air is collected in a floating state by the liquid in the storage portions 5. The liquid from each storage portion 5 flows from the communication ports 6 formed to the lower control plates 4 along with collected dust by an overflow system to finally flow to the gathering portion 22 outside the casing 1 from the liquid discharge port 21. The liquid of the gathering portion is circulated and supplied to the collection chambers from shower nozzles after dust is removed. The discharge port 21 is held substantially airtightly by an impeller 31 rotated by liquid level difference.
