NEW AMIDE-BASED COMPOUND, CRYSTAL NUCLEATING AGENT FOR CRYSTALLINE THERMOPLASTIC RESIN AND CRYSTALLINE THERMOPLASTIC RESIN COMPOSITION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new compound capable of accelerating the crystallization rate of a crystalline thermoplastic resin and producing a molded product excellent in mechanical properties, especially impact strength. SOLUTION: This compound is represented by the formula X-Y-Z-Y-X [X is a rosin acid residue; Y is CONH or NHCO; Z is an aromatic group-containing organic group represented by the formula (CH)m-Φ-(A-Φ)n-(CH)m (Φis an arylene or its substituted derivative group; A is a single bond, methylene or the like; m is 0, 1 or 2; n is 0 or 1). The above compound is obtained by reacting an aromatic diamine represented by the formula H2N-Z-NH2 (e.g. o- phenylenedimine) with a rosin acid represented by the formula X-COOH (e.g. dehydroabietic acid) or its derivative using an amine-based catalyst such as triethylamine as a catalyst.
