PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an electrode active material which allows the suppression of capacity degradation, and offers a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery excellent in cycle characteristic.SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing an electrode active material comprises the steps of: preparing a liquid solution of sources of lithium and M which are necessary for forming a lithium-containing composite oxide for the electrode active material of a lithium secondary battery represented by the general formula, LiMO(1), where M represents at least one element selected from a group consisting of Fe, Co, Ni, Mn and Ti, and 0<a≤5, 0.5≤b≤6, and 1.5≤c≤13; adding a cyclic ether compound to the resultant liquid solution to lower its fluidity thereby obtaining a material having a higher viscosity; and calcining the material having a higher viscosity thereby obtaining the lithium-containing composite oxide. |
