摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an electrode active material which allows the suppression of capacity degradation, and offers a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery excellent in cycle characteristic.SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing an electrode active material comprises the steps of: preparing a liquid solution of sources of lithium and M which are necessary for forming a lithium-containing composite oxide for the electrode active material of a lithium secondary battery represented by the general formula, LiMO(1), where M represents at least one element selected from a group consisting of Fe, Co, Ni, Mn and Ti, and 0<a&le;5, 0.5&le;b&le;6, and 1.5&le;c&le;13; adding a cyclic ether compound to the resultant liquid solution to lower its fluidity thereby obtaining a material having a higher viscosity; and calcining the material having a higher viscosity thereby obtaining the lithium-containing composite oxide.
