PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner in which a refrigerant discharged from an outdoor heat exchanger upon cooling operation can be assuredly changed to a liquid refrigerant in a receiver tank. SOLUTION: In an air conditioner, a compressor 1, a four-way valve 2, an outdoor heat exchanger 3, a pressure reducing device 4 and an indoor heat exchanger 5 or the like are sequentially connected together through a piping to form a refrigerant circuit. and a receiver tank 6 is provided between the outdoor heat exchanger 3 and the pressure reducing device 4. In this case, a cooling pipe 7 is buried in the receiver tank 6. The cooling pipe 7 is connected in parallel with the inlet side piping 8 of the compressor 1.
