PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inserting method of packing capable of correctly inserting the packing. SOLUTION: This is a method to insert packing 10 made of a ring elastic body into a faucet of a tube fitting 20 an opening end part inside diameter of which is formed smaller than a deep side inside diameter, outer peripheral surfaces 11a, 11b facing against each other of the packing 10 are clamped and an interval is decreased in the central direction, and the packing 10 is inserted into the faucet 22 of the tube fitting 20 with the narrowed part of the packing 10 first.
