PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a scroll compressor with an autorotation preventive mechanism excellent in workability, assembling performance and cost performance by combining parts of simple forms. SOLUTION: An autorotation preventive mechanism 42 for a scroll compressor has a sliding member 24 and a guide surface 27. The sliding member 24 so penetrates through an end plate 32 of a rotary scroll 30 in one direction X substantially perpendicular to an axis of a crankshaft as to secure relative sliding with length exceeding a maximum rotational diameter R of a circular orbital motion of the rotary scroll 30. The guide surface 27 is formed on a fixed member 10, and abutted against with a projected end face 24b of each end 24a of the sliding member 24 projected from the rotary scroll 30. The surface 27 guides the sliding member 24 so as to be slid in a second direction Y perpendicular to both the axis of the crankshaft and one direction X within a range not less than a maximum rotational stroke X of the rotary scroll 30.
