The single skin frame drum has a clamp rim for tightening or slackening its membrane (1) which is fixed on the resonance body (6) of the instrument. The membrane is pre-formed hat-shaped on the resonance body and secured at the edge in a rim (12). The inner diameter of the rim is slightly greater than the outer diameter of the resonance body. The rim so locates on a pressure-activated hollow body forming a variable pressure chamber that it is fixed in a free-swing manner in relation to the resonance body, fixing the edge of the membrane tensioned by the hollow body.
