The device uses a single motor drive unit for all lock actions. The vehicle door lock comprises a bolt (1) and a pawl (3) which is able to adopt an open position in which is does not act on the bolt. A control element (7,9) is arranged to take an active position in which it acts on the pawl to put it into the open position, or an inactive position in which it has no effect on the pawl. The bolt may then be subject to operation by the door handle. An electrical device is provided to control the lock, the single electric motor being arranged to locking and unlocking of the mechanism, and the opening of the lock. Two different voltages are applied to the device to effect the different operations of unlocking, and opening the lock. |
