PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to shield all of non-pixel parts by eliminating light shielding films, to enhance a contrast and to obtain a good display by forming opaque metallic wiring between electrodes disposed on another substrate corresponding to the non-pixel parts not shielded from light by partition walls. SOLUTION: The partition walls 16 are arranged in contact with another substrate in correspondence to the non-pixel parts 20a offset from pixel parts 19 between the electrodes 12a disposed on one substrate. The opaque metallic wiring 15 is formed between the electrodes 12b disposed on another substrate in correspondence to the non-pixel parts 19 not shielded from light by the partition walls 16. In such a case, the metallic wiring 15 is preferably a low- resistance metallic body. The light shielding of the non-pixel parts 20a is executed by the partition walls 16 and the metallic wiring 15 is disposed in the positions of the non-pixel parts 20b which cannot be shielded from light by the partition walls 16 according to this constitution, by which the good display with the high contrast may be executed even if the light shielding films imparted heretofore are abolished. |
