PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify a control signal from a communication terminal so that miniaturization and lightening of weight can be attained, in the case of charging a battery pack having the communication terminal. SOLUTION: A communication terminal 4 is provided in a battery pack 1. Information necessary for a charge process of charge stop information, capacity information, full charge information, battery inferiority information, etc., is fed to a charge adapter 2 by a control signal from the communication terminal 4. When a characteristic curve of charge voltage and charge current input to the battery pack 1 is detected, a charge mode can be discriminated. In each charge mode, the information and the control signal are made to correspond. In this way, a kind of the control signal from the communication terminal can be decreased without decreasing a number of information of the total unit. Information corresponding to the control signal from the communication terminal 4 is judged in a judgment circuit 128 based on the received control signal and the charge mode judged from the characteristic curve of charge voltage and charge current in a voltage detecting circuit 126, and charge operation is controlled in accordance with the judged information.
