PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a quencher simplifying welding work. SOLUTION: A cone 13 connected at the top end to the bottom end of a main steam relief pipe 11, a quencher body 19 connected at the top end to the bottom end of the cone 13, and a support 20 attached at the top end to the lower surface of the quencher body 19 and attached at the bottom end to the bottom liner 17 of a suppression pool, are provided. A projection part 19a facing to the top surface of the support is provided to the lower surface of the quencher body 19. In welding the quencher body 19 and the support 20, the projection part 19a of the quencher 19 is put on the top surface of the support, the axes of the quencher body 19 and the support 20 are aligned and the quencher body 19 is held horizontally, and the projection part 19a and the top end of the support 20 are mutually welded to fix.
