<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor device which is used for a display, which is of high precision and capable of a large size, and which is integrally formed with a driving circuit and a function circuit, and to provide a liquid crystal display using such device. SOLUTION: The device is provided with a scanning line 13, signal line 14 and an auxiliary wiring 2, and is also provided with a switching element 12, storage capacity element Cs and a pixel electrode 11 in a matrix correspondingly to the intersection between the scanning line 13 and the signal line 14. In this case, the pixel electrode 11 is arranged in a layer above the signal line 14; the auxiliary wiring 2 is composed of at least one or more wiring layers, at least the one layer of which is provided between the signal line 14 and the pixel electrode 11; and, in the display area, the auxiliary wiring 2 and one of the electrodes 17 of the storage capacity element Cs are integrally formed or electrically connected for each pixel. The liquid crystal display 1 is formed with this device provided for one side of the liquid crystal layer. In addition, this device is integrally formed with a circuit for driving the scanning line 13 or the signal line 14 in the periphery of the display area; and the auxiliary wiring 2 provided near the driving circuit may be designed to be electrically connected to the conductors of other layers through connecting holes to form a part of the driving circuit.</p> |
