PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a duplication restricting method of an information signal capable of effectively preventing the unauthorized duplication of the information signal without lowering the convenience of the user of the information signal and also without increasing the load on a recorder. SOLUTION: A digital audio signal as the information signal and the information relating to the contents such as a contents ID which is the discriminating information of this digital audio signal, the standard reproducing time (playing time), etc., are supplied from a reproducing device 1 to a recording/reproducing device 2 through a high speed bus 3. The control part 20 of the recording/ reproducing device 2 stores the contents ID in a control memory 32 of copying history information when the same contents ID is not existent in the control memory 32 of copying history information, and holds it in the period for measuring by using a timer 33, and restricts the recording function of the recording/ reproducing device 2 in this period so as not to copy the same digital audio signal at a high speed. |
