PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a meteorological copy broadcast receiver that automatically selects a frequency at which number of ghost stripes is minimum in a received weather chart. SOLUTION: An antenna 1 receives a radio wave of meteorological copy broadcast and a receiver 2 selects a received frequency and demodulates the radio wave. A tone signal separation section 5 separates black/white signal components a, b of a tone signal and gives them to a pre-processor 6, where weather chart data are decoded from the black/white signals a, b. In the case of decoding, for example, the white signal (a) is replaced with a bit '1', the black signal (b) is replaced with a bit '0' respectively and the weather chart data are generated as a binary image signal. In general, since a weather chart frame in a weather chart image is a fixed pattern not changed for each broadcast, ghost stripes can be measured by recognizing the frame pattern.
