PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To notify a called side of the contents and the speaker of a recorded message before the message is reproduced. SOLUTION: When a called event showing a called state is given from a telephone control circuit 2, a new record of a message management table is produced and stored in a message management table area 6b. The voice data are read out of an answer data area 6c in reply to the called state and given to a coding/decoding circuit 5. Then the converted voice signals are given to the circuit 2. Thus, the guidance is carried out to receive a message. The voice signals of the message which are given to the circuit 2 from a calling side are converted in sequence into the voice data by the circuit 5, given to a CPU 4 and stored in a message data area 6a. The speaker and the contents of the message are analyzed based on a message analysis processing procedure after the talking is cut. Then the message is reproduced based on a message reproduction processing procedure when a reproduction command is inputted via a keyboard 12 for the recorded message.
