PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to prevent the infiltration of dust or water by providing a ventilation pipe on a line breaker for a railway car and exhausting an ionized gas generated by the current interruption of the line breaker, by running the car in a line breaker housing for a railway car having a breaker that switches on or off electrical contacts. SOLUTION: A housing 1 is prepared, covers 2, 3 are provided on the front and rear sides of the housing 1, and a cleat 4 formed with an insulated material for fixing wirings is provided. A breaker 5 which switches on or off electrical contacts and a ventilation pipe 6 are provided inside the housing 1. When the breaker 5 is installed in a railway car and the electrical contacts are in a conducting state, arcs and an ionized gas generated at the instant the electrical contacts are opened are processed inside the housing 1 and the gas is exhausted from the ventilation pipe 6. This structure can drastically reduce the amount of dust or water that infiltrates. |
