A breakable device has safety sections and weaker zones; it has at least three safety parts divided by intermediate areas, these latter having successively greater (or lower) fracture loads. Pref. material for the device is nylon. The device comprises a (e.g. nylon) strip with holes (2,3,4,5) punched out and with narrower points (6,7,8) between to form fracture points. The latter can alternatively be e.g. cuts into the material or made of different materials, and used as a safety device for two cords (9,10) which are knotted and placed through two particular holes. This set-up fractures at the weakest point. The fracture points (6,7,8) are set to have progressively (e.g.) greater failing loads and the cord (9) is put through the hole for the appropriate breaking load. The principle indicated can be used in many different forms e.g. replacing the strip (1) by wire, rope etc. ADVANTAGE - The device can be set to fracture at different loads. It can be used for training dogs from a motorcycle. |
