A refractory powder to be used with an aqueous binder comprises 1-70 wt.% of a cellular particle-like refractory material of particle size distribution below 200 mu m and a density below 0.9. An Independent claim is also included for a process for preparing a casting with the above powder and comprising mixing the above refractory powder with an aqueous binder to obtain a liquid paste, pouring into a mold containing a wax mold printing, waiting for the mixture to set, heating, the wax is evacuated from the block to form a mold with a cavity, removing the mold from the oven, injecting a metal or a melted ceramic into the cavity, cooling and breaking the mold to obtain the casting. |
