PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a method and device for creating the surface model of a three-dimensional object by which a smooth surface description is created from low resolution scanning since a terracing artifacts continues to have a possibility to be left as a problem point unless scanning with drastically high resolution is executed. SOLUTION: The method and the device are the ones for creating the surface model of the three-dimensional object 101, by which the object is scanned with low resolution from plural directions, volume data 102 at every scanning are created, each volume data 102 is divided into extraction data connected to the object (120) and, then, volume data 102 are positioned to a common coordinate frame. After the positioning, the surface net is initially set at every volume data 102 (140), the multiple surface nets are mitigated and annexed in accordance with the common coordinate frame and, then, the rendering possible surface model is generated.
