PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the longitudinal dimension of the unit of a gas-insulated switchgear and simplify machining of the outer edge of its flange part to reduce cost. SOLUTION: Electrical apparatuses such as breakers, disconnectors, ground switches, etc., or conductors are housed and insulating medium such as SF6, etc., is sealed in a pressure chamber for a gas-insulated switchgear. The body part 14 of the pressure vessel of the gas-insulated switchgear has an elliptical cross-section, and the shapes of the outer edges of flange parts 15 which are connected to the end parts of the body part 14 are circular. Since the body part 14 has an elliptical cross-section, if the short diameter direction is made in parallel with the longitudinal direction of a unit, the longitudinal dimension of the unit can be reduced. Furthermore, since the shapes of the outer edges of the flange parts 15 are circular, machining can be practiced by turning a tool concentrically, so that the machining can be very much simplified, and the flange parts can be made at a low cost. Also, a circular O-ring groove 16 can be machined easily. |
