A cigarette packet 50 includes a hinged lid 51 and a flexible inner wrapper 52. The inner wrapper has a tear line aligned with an edge 54 of the package. A tear tab 55 is situated adjacent the edge 54 so that it serves as a support for the tab as it is pulled outwardly and along the edge 54.
