PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize disk loading and chucking operations performed by tray opening/closing by one driving source and with a simple structure, to facilitate the assembling, to reduce the number of part items to realize a low price, to reduce failures and to make detectable the completion of each of loading and chucking by one detecting means. SOLUTION: This loading device is constructed in such a manner that the driving of a motor 6 is transmitted to gears 11 and 12, and a tray 2 is driven to be opened/closed by a rack 21 engaged with the gear 12. The tray 2 is closed and, when its operation is completed, i.e., loading is finished, the driving of the motor 6 is transmitted from the gear 12 to a cam holder 10. Thus, a lifting arm 3 is tilted through a follower 33 engaged with a cam, and then a disk chucking operation is carried out.
