PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small-sized retail terminal which can be installed in various places of a retail store and is provided with an electronic module which a user can operate. SOLUTION: This method is a method to operate a retail terminal 10 provided with a core module assembly 12, a unidirectional fundamental assembly, and another multidirectional fundamental assembly 18 substituting for the unidirectional fundamental assembly. This core module assembly 12 is attached to the unidirectional fundamental assembly or the multidirectional fundamental assembly 18. The core module assembly 12 is so operated that a selling function can be executed in a first period when the core module assembly is fixed to the unidirectional fundamental assembly, and next, it is detached from the unidirectional fundamental assembly and is attached to another multidirectional fundamental assembly 18. Next, this core module assembly 12 is so operated that the selling function may be executed in a second period.
